Our Story
We are Sharon and Phil, we are British and love France. We love travelling and have had jobs in the travel industry after starting our careers as French and German teachers. Our love for languages and different cultures lead us to travel and learn more languages - we speak fluent French and German but we can also have a (short) conversation in Italian, Dutch or Spanish!

Moving to France in 1990 was the first of many moves, we lived for 23 years near to Geneva, where we met people from all over the globe. A short 3 year break in Spain was where we discovered our passion for hospitality.We then opened our first Boutique B&B in Torquay, UK, in 2015. It was a great success and we learnt so much, but we both longed to be back in France, so after 4 years back in the UK, we are now in our beautiful B&B in France. We hope you'll love it as much as we do.
Le Logis d'Epargnes
Le Logis is a typical charentaise Maison de Maitre, built in the late 19th century and set in a three thousand square metre garden, full of mature bushes, plants and trees, including the ubiquitous Stone Pines. We moved into Le Logis in October 2019 and set about decorating. We wanted to up date the decor but needed to keep the traditional style in keeping with this beautiful old house. We wish to give our guests an experience closer to that of a small boutique style hotel, rather than that of a traditional B&B. Our rooms are spacious, are beautifully decorated and have all the extra little touches. We want to reflect our love for travel so a travel theme can be found throughout Le Logis.
We also want to reflect our love of this beautiful area of France, which of course is famous for its vineyards, delicious wine and of course Cognac, so all our rooms are named after Cognac types.
When you come to stay we can organise tours of the local vineyards for you or recommend a Cognac tasting tour in the town of Cognac.
How about a game of Croquet? The quitessentially English game can be played on our front lawn, with a glass of cool wine of course!
We also have an illuminated 13m boulodrome for you to enjoy!
Our breakfasts are continental style, using fresh local ingredients, including eggs, fresh fruit, cheese and ham and of course bread and croissants from the local bakers. Breakfasts are served in our lovely bright dining room, or outside on the terrace or garden during the hot summer months.
Le Logis is an ideal place for your holidays, a rural setting so you have the peace and tranquility of the countryside.
Sit in the garden or by the pool and just relax. We are only 15 minutes to the beaches of Meschers and then another 5 to the gorgeous beaches of the Atlantic coast, St-George de Didonne, Royan, and then slightly further to La Grande Cote and on to La Cote Sauvage and on to La Rochelle and the Islands.
So spend your day on these beautiful beaches and then return to our haven of peace at Le Logis.
Your room will be serviced each day (not exclusive whole house rentals) and we are here to make sure you have a wonderful experience. Kindly note that pets are not allowed at the Logis d'Epargnes.
